In Which a Writer on "Girls" Declares That Women Like Me Do Not Exist
Gosh, this piece feels like it was written all about me! The Hunger Games is one of my favorite books (and I saw the movie twice), my favorite colors are pink and purple, I much prefer board game nights to a night out on the town, I prize my female friendships, I’m single, I have no kids, the last song I downloaded on iTunes was by Taylor Swift, and the CD I listened to on the way to work today was Katy Perry. Of course, I also am not concerned about the dearth of women directors in Hollywood or feminist pieces in the Atlantic…
Oh, wait. No. That’s not right. I do care about those things. How can that be?! I like dresses! I like pizza and candy! I even enjoy dressing up on Halloween! Wait… where did this PhD come from? I’m so confused!
Seriously, guys, this article just hurts my heart. There is no one way to be a smart, strong woman.
